How We Can Help

Whether you've had a fall or suffered a cardiac arrest, time is of the essence. Our free app connects individuals in need to a network of trained volunteers. All of our volunteers are serving or recently retired firefighters and paramedics. They undergo enhanced DBS checks, and their training is rigorously verified. Emergency Neighbourhood Response (ENR) is committed to providing immediate support to those in need.

Heres how we can help:

Notification On Phone

Who does the app connect to?

Connection Image

The app notifies trained volunteers—serving or recently retired firefighters and paramedics—letting them know you need assistance. We are also working to establish connections with ambulance dispatch centers for real-time communication, but for now, it’s important that you still call 999. Our app helps shorten the time between injury and receiving help. And the best part? It’s completely free!

COMPLEX MEDICAL HISTORY

Share your medical history and allergies with the NHS to ensure ambulance crews are fully informed on how to best treat you. If you're prone to heart attacks, allergic to aspirin, and take GTN, let the crews know before they arrive on scene.

PROVIDE A SET OF EYES FOR RESCUERS

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Share images of an ongoing incident so rescue crews can develop a plan while en route, giving the patient the best possible chance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I call 999?

+

The end result is the same. Both calling 999 and using the app connect you to the same person. However, with the app the call handler can see important information about you such as your medical records, next of kin and your exact location. Meaning your care is more detailered to your exact needs. The app also allows for triage before arriving at A&E. In the event of a stroke you can be triaged at home and taken directly to a specialist hospital for immediate intervention. Finally, if you do use app and are in need of immediate assistance you can press the SOS button which sends out an alert to local heros that are first aid trained.

Yes! You should still call 999. We are an additional resource that can help you get the assistance you need! We are working on securing a contract with ambulance call handlers, but this process is currently delayed. Once finalised, you'll be able to connect directly to NHS call handlers through the app.

How are the volunteers vetted?

+

All our volunteers are either serving or former firefighters and ambulance crew members. They all undergo enhanced DBS checks and carry a wide range of equipment, from medical oxygen to iGels, BLAST bandages, and CELOX gauze. Their training records are meticulously tracked.

Who does the app connect me too?

+

When clicking the SOS button a pleathera of local volunteers are notified that you need help! If you have filled out the adequate information in the settings area your personal details, medical history and next of kin details will be passed to the ambulance service. Any images that you securely upload will also be accessible by the ambulance and fire service.

The correct emergency services for your area. When you call 999 a BT operator intercepts your call and directs you to the emergency services call handler for police, fire or ambulance in your area. We simply replace the BT operator and connect you directly to the emergency services call handler. If you do need immediate help then we advise you to use the SOS button which will connect you to the emergency services call handler for your area BUT also send an alert to local heros that are first aid trained notifiying them that you need help.

How do I use the app?

+

Simple as 1,2,3! 1. Download the app. 2. Fill your information in settings. 3. When you need help press the SOS button.

When you need help simply open the app. If you require immediate medical help because you have fallen over or having a heart attack then hit the SOS button. This then sends out a notification to people within 1km of your location, that have opted into help and are first aid trained. The app will then connect you to the correct ambulance serivce for your area. The call handler can then see your medical history, location and any other details you wish to share with them. If the call is less serious you can opt to use one of the other icons for Police, Ambulance or Fire and again the app will connect you to the correct authority. You can also add photos and videos to help crews see what is going on. If you forget there is an easy to follow guide in the top left corner which will guide you in using the app.

How much does the app cost?

+

Nothing! The app is completely free. As a company we rely on the making money from first aid courses and event medical support. If you opt to help finanically 100% of your donations go directly to maintaining the equipment of neighbourhood responders.

How do I get started?

+

Simply click "Get The App" on this page which will take you to the app. If you are viewing the site on a computer the app will display a QR code for you to scan on your phone. Then its a matter of registering and signing in. When you sign in for the first time a guide will appear to give you a tour of the app. We suggest you use this time to fill out the supplementary field in the app settings section located in the top right of the app.

How does a progressive web app work? Is there an iOS or Android alternative?

+

A progressive web app (PWA) is a web page that is loaded onto your phone. It uses https just like a traditional webpage. We will be producing native apps for iOS and Android shortly.
